Mai and Melanie decide to put him to the test and write him up as a "case study of the sexist male" in the school magazine. When Ryan starts passing the test, Mai finds she is attracted to him. Melanie, feeling jealous, takes action to ruin any chance Mai has with Ryan. After visiting a supermarket, Drazic reveals to Anita he has stolen a carton of cigarettes. When Anita starts doing the same thing, she is caught by an irate store manager. Drazic rushes to her aide but in helping Anita get away, he is caught. Anita is faced with the dilemma of turning herself in to save Drazic or saving herself and leaving Drazic to take the rap. Les thinks it's time to embrace cyberspace and exhorts Ronnie and staff to do likewise. After turning down Charlie's request to buy new equipment for the school, Les purchases a computer that also runs an overhead projector apparatus. When he can't get the computer running, Les pulls Charlie out of class to enlist his help. Charlie discovers the problem and Les is left feeling very foolish.

Drazic is taken aback to learn the Shark Pool has been bought by none other than D'espo, his stereo-stealing mate. D'espo is eager to turn the place, whatever the cost, and begins by reducing portions, watering down the drinks, and serving stale food. With her busking revenue drying up, Nikki is convinced he career is in the toilet and she is a has-been before she's even been a someone. In response to an innocent comment by Drazic about no relationship being perfect, Sarah and Ryan consider changes to their images in an effort to please one other. Drazic has some fun at his friends' expense and encourages Sarah to get a nose ring while suggesting to Ryan that Sarah has an issue with his hair. Complaints from the public about the behaviour of Hartley Heights students prompts Barnett to have a student to give a talk about school spirit to the school and a number of community leaders. Unbeknownst to Roberto, Rocco is once again in financial trouble and is hoping to raise enough money with the sale of his share to clear his debt with Leo Fine. When Roberto refuses to sell, Rocco resorts to stealing money from the business to pay off Leo. When the theft is discovered, Matt must stand up to defend Declan when Rocco attempts to place the blame on him. Bolton approaches Dyson about finding a way to help Stassy out with her financial troubles but it is Allie and Danielle who land Stassy an interview with a modelling agency when they send out her photo without her knowledge. Despite his good intentions, Stassy doesn't appreciate Bolton meddling in her life. Katerina reneges on the agreement she made with Charlie while he was in hospital to go out on a date with him.

A girl who is a friend of Emma's give birth in her car, then leaves the baby outside Emma's front door wanting Emma to look after it - what she doesn't know is that Emma is staying overnight in town. The girl collapses and ends up in hospital, David is her doctor, he knows she has just given birth and is trying to get her to tell him where the baby is but she won't. The baby ends up being left out in the cold all night. The girl's boyfriend turns up aswell. Eventually the girl says where she left the baby and Emma and the boyfriend find it.
