Reyes hasn't been found, but the search operation leads to tracing down a sunk boat which will provide new clues. The boat was used for smuggling African diamonds, and was found by Fran in a diving excursion.

Candela is determined to clear up the drug trafficking case that Díaz had confessed to her at the end of the previous season. But Díaz is unwilling to cooperate. He fears reprisals from Samir's people. His worst fears are confirmed: someone sends a hit man to kill him. This new criminal case crosses Candela's work with a very unpleasant matter, a conflict over the custody of minors, Ágata and Dácil, in which neither Gaspar nor Lucia, the parents, are willing to give in.

Díaz avoids being arrested by desperately fleeing. But leaving the island without being found out is impossible, especially with a police operation that shut up firmly the few available exit routes from the island.

The conflict over the custody of the girls is complicated. Dácil, the youngest of the sisters, has disappeared. Gaspar, the father is convinced that it is the responsibility of his ex, Lucia. Cruz, the new Civil Guard sergeant, takes over the search operation. Meanwhile, Díaz travels to Tenerife in search of answers to the question of who wanted to kill him. His encounter with Fadi, Samir's haunting son, now in charge of the organization, only complicates matters.
